FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Student leaders attend leadership trainingA two-day Leadership Training Seminars (LTS) was held at the SVD retreat house in Tagaytay City, July 19-20; participated in by the DWCC Student Body Organization and Department Officers. This was in response to the needs of DWCC students leaders to be well-equipped with appropriate leadership skills and to foster camaraderie among the leaders and the entire Divinistas. In order to meet their goal of building up a good community, the trainees have set several objectives: to gain knowledge on the universally accepted concept of leadership and organizational management; to acquire boosted self-confidence and to develop leadership potentials; to foster camaraderie and cooperation between the SBO and the Department Officers; to unite on the policies and procedures regarding the different campus activities that will be implemented for SY 2000-2001, and to be enlightened on their duties and responsibilities as students and on the issues that affect them. The whole event was facilitated by DWCC instructors, namely, Mr. Joey Bautista, Mrs. Milagros Macaraig, Mrs. Susan Custodio, Ms. Bebeth Quitain, Engr. Marlon Chavez, Engr. Fred Tamayosa, and all department faculty advisers, and Mrs. Alma Salvador, Director for Student Affairs. Likewise an open forum was held with Bro. Peter Villena, SVD, DWCC finance officer in attendance, wherein questions concerning some crucial matters and other financial policies were brought out and addressed. A socialization night hosted by the SBO highlighted the said affair. The most outstanding participants were selected, including Mr. & Ms. LTS 2000 in the persons of Ronald Abadejos (CS), and Joan Margaret Leynes (AB), respectively. For More Information Contact: |
